New Twist in Aston Villa manager saga

A new twist in the ongoing saga over who is going to be the next Aston Villa manager has emerged, after news that Thierry Henry may be set to take over at Monaco.

The 41 year-old former Arsenal star had emerged as favourite to take over the vacant Villa job, perhaps as part of a “dream team” with John Terry, but now it looks as if he may be headed to Monaco instead.

Runners-up in the French championship last season, Monaco have endured a difficult start this time round, and went into the international break languishing in the relegation players.

According to The Sun, the club’s president Dmitry Rybovlev is not prepared to tolerate the situation any more, and is ready to sack their highly esteemed manager, Leonardo Jadim, and install Henry in his place.

That, in turn, may boost the chances that Terry, who announced his retirement from playing at the weekend, will be offered the Villa job himself.
