Arsenal set to sign Paraguay international in January

Paraguayan international Miguel Amirón is set to sign for Arsenal in January.

The 24year old striker currently plays for MLS side Atlanta United, and has scored 12 goals and 13 assists for the Eastern Conference leaders from 32 games.

Now, according to Fox Deportes USA that form has seen him earn a move to the Emirates, after the end of the MLS season in December, with Atlanta’s club president Darren Eales confirming that “Almirón’s future is already decided and will go to England in the European winter market.”

Other reports meanwhile suggest that Arsenal have already agreed a £11 million fee for the striker.

Amirón joined Atlanta from Argentine Primeria Division side Lanús in December 2016, and has since gone on to play 55 times for them in the succeeding two seasons. He was named in the League’s Best XI for 2017 and also MLS newcomer of the year.

He has won 12 full caps for Paraguay so should have no problem getting a work permit for the Emirates.
