England forward Danny Welbeck looks set to leave Arsenal on a free transfer at the end of the season.
The 27-year old striker is in the final year of his contract at The Emirates, but there have been no indications that any contract extension is in the offing for the former Manchester United star, reports The Daily Mirror.
He is in a similar position to Aaron Ramsey who is also set to leave at the end of the season with the crucial distinction between the two cases being that at least the club made an offer to Ramsey which they later withdrew, whereas no new deal has been offered to Welbeck.
A £16 million signing from United in September 2014, Welbeck has seen his time blighted by several long-term injuries, but has proved to be a useful squad player and, under new manager Unai Emery, is currently the club’s joint top scorer this season with four goals.
