The 27-year old Welsh midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season, and discussions between his representatives and the club about a new deal have been ongoing for some time.
Earlier this month, Unai Emery had sounded hopeful that Ramsey would extend his stay at The Emirates but now come news that discussions between the parties have broken down so badly that Arsenal have now chosen to withdraw their new contract offer altogether.
Now he could walk away for Arsenal for free next summer, although the club may be willing instead to sell him in January in order to recoup some money from him.
Ramsey has made 338 appearances for Arsenal since joining them from Cardiff City as a teenager, recovering from a horrendous broken leg suffered against Stoke to gain the rare distinction of having scored the winning goal in two cup finals – against Hull City in 2014, and then against Chelsea three years later.
Andy is an exiled English football fan living in Cyprus. He loves all sports but football is his abiding passion, and he still has dreams every now and then about scoring the winning goal in a Wembley Cup Final, even though his playing days are long gone. He follows most major leagues, across Europe at least, and has a favoured team in each. When he’s not watching, listening, reading or downloading podcasts about football, he spend his time worrying about his beloved Arsenal.
