Griffiths signs new four year deal at Celtic

Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has agreed a new four year deal at the club that will see him extend his stay at Parkhead until 2022.

The 28-year old striker has amassed exactly 100 goals for The Hoops in 190 appearances since signing from Wolves for a reported £1 million in January 2014.  During that time he has picked up 5 Premier League titles, 3 Scottish Cups and 2 League Cups, as well as winning 15 caps for Scotland for whom he has netted 4 times.

In 2016 he won a unique quartet of awards, being named Player of the Year by the Scottish PFA, Football writers, the SPL and his own club.

Now the forward, who began his career with Livingston and Dundee, is looking to add to his medal haul, after signing his new contract. He told Celtic TV: “I’m over the moon. From the moment I walked in the door here, this is where I wanted to be for the rest of my life. I can’t wait for the future”.
