Aston Villa have been linked with a move for former Premier League winner Robert Huth.
Villa had been expected to re-sign former England captain John Terry, who spent last season on loan with the Championship club, but following the shock news that the 37-year old is set to complete a lucrative move to Spartak Moscow, they have been forced to rethink their plans.
Now they could target Huth, according to The Sun, who is a free agent after being released by Leicester in the summer.
The former Chelsea player, who won two Premier League titles during his time at Stamford Bridge, was an integral part of the Leicester team that won the league in the 2015-2016 season, forming a strong partnership with fellow defender Wes Morgan. However, he missed the whole of last season due to ankle and foot injuries, and opted to leave The King Power Stadium three months ago.
