Tottenham Hotspur are among a clutch of clubs keeping tabs on Ajax youngster Frenkie de Jong.
That is according to The Daily Express who reports that scouts from Spurs have been watching the 21-year old midfielder, who is regarded as one of the brightest talents to emerge from Dutch football in recent years.
Valued at £40 million, it is reported that Spurs, who failed to sign a single player in the summer transfer window, could be tempted to table a January bid for the de Jong, although they might face competition, with the likes of Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund also tracking his progress.
The player himself, who has already racked up 37 appearances for Ajax, and is a Dutch under-21 international is in no hurry to move abroad so early in his fledgling career whilst his club are set to keep him for the rest of this season, believing that his value will only appreciate.
