Stoke City striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is set for a deadline day move to French Campions Paris Saint-Germain.
That us after PSG boss confirmed that the 29-year old is set to have a medical in Paris, alongside Bayern Munich defender Juan Bernat, before the summer transfer window finally closes.
The German-born forward joined Stoke from German side Schalke last summer, but despite playing 32 times for the club last season, he could only manage 5 goals for the club, and he was unable to prevent them being relegated back into the Championship.
Stoke’s new manager Gary Rowett does not consider Choupo-Moting part of his long-term plans, and, as Sun reveals, the club will be glad to get the forward’s £60,000 a week off their wage bill, as they look to rebuild.
Choupo-Moting is likely being signed to add cover to Edison Cavani, and can be expected to play form the bench in France, as opposed to being a definite starter.
