Arsenal youngster set for loan spell in Germany

One of Arsenal’s most promising young players, Reiss Nelson, is set to join German club Hoffenheim before the European transfer window closes on Friday.

When the news originally broke on Tuesday, Gunners fans were in uproar, as it looked like the club were about to let one of their brightest talents slip through their fingers, following in the footsteps of Chris Willock and Marcus McGuane who all left the Emirates in the past year for European teams.

However, as The Sun reports, the Nelson deal is just a loan move and, before he packs his suitcases for Germany, he is set to sign a bumper new 5-year deal with Arsenal, which not only protects their investment, but also sends a clear message to the player that he is part of their long-term plans.

Both player and club will be hoping that Nelson can have a similar impact at Hoffenheim as former Manchester City Jadon Sancho has had at Borussia Dortmund who has already broken through into the first team with the Bundesliga side.
