Celtic are among a clutch of clubs interested in signing French defender Harold Moukoudi.
The 20-year old, currently playing for Le Havre in Ligue 2 is regarded as one of the brightest young talents in French football, and has been scouted by clubs in Spain, and the likes of West Ham and Burnley, whilst Middlesbrough, currently top of the Championship, are also said to be mulling a bid.
However, Celtic are considering throwing their hat in the ring, as they look for defensive reinforcements before the transfer window closes next Friday, with Dedryck Boyata set to leave the club after his contractual dispute.
According to The Scottish Sun, Moukoudi, who has represented France at under-20 level, would cost at least £5 million, but given their mixed star to the season, it is a fee that Brendan Rogers is ready to prepare his board to pay for a player who, despite his name, is of Irish Republican descent.
