Whilst they may not have made any signings during the summer transfer window, Spurs are looking to trim their squad ahead of the new season with a series of loan deals for some of their fringe players, including American defender Cameron Carter-Vickers.
The 20-year old, whose senior appearances for Tottenham have been limited to two outings each in the FA and League cups, spent last season, first at Sheffield United, and then at Ipswich Town.
Now, according to The Sun, he is ready for another loan spell in The Championship, this time for the season, with Graham Potter’s Swansea City the mooted destination.
Swansea have started life back in the second tier well, and are unbeaten in their first three matches, but are short of defenders, having sold both Alfie Mawson and Frederico Fernandez over the summer, and would welcome a reinforcement like Carter-Vickers, who, although born in Southend-on-Sea represents the USA at international level.
