Galatasary linked with transfer move for Danny Welbeck

Turkish champions Galatasary have been linked with a move for Arsenal and England football Danny Welbeck.

The 27-year old forward, who is in the last year of his current contract at The Emirates, finds himself relegated down the pecking order at Arsenal behind both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexander Lacazette, and with the club looking to give more time to up and coming star Eddie Nketiah, they may be prepared to sell him if the price is right.

Now according to reports from Turkey, Galatasary may be prepared to bid for him before the transfer window closes, hoping to entice him to Istanbul with the promise of Champions League football.

One sticking point, however, may be the fact that the player himself does not want to move to Turkey and is, instead, happy to stay in North London and fight for his play, after impressing new manager Unai Emery with his versatility in training.

Welbeck returned to Arsenal late after spending the summer in Russia with the England World Cup squad, though his active participation was limited to a substitute appearance against Belgium in a Group game.
