Harry Maguire ready to agree new deal with Leicester

Central defender Harry Maguirre is ready to commit to a new deal at Leicester City, barely a year after signing for the Midlands club from Hull City.

The 25-year old Sheffield-born player is set to be rewarded both for his performances last year, and for his increasing profile in the game, after he was one of the stars of England’s run to the World Cup semi-finals earlier in the summer.

Now according to The Daily Telegraph, Maguirre is set to commit his immediate future to Leicester by signing his new contract, which is said to be worth £75,000 a week.

Maguirre was heavily linked with moves to Manchester United in the transfer window, with Jose Mourinho reputedly keen to recruit him for his defensive organisation and ability, but Leicester were always adamant that they had no intention of selling him, and, as events transpired, United did not make any bid for the player.
