Joe Hart set for Burnley move

Joe Hart’s unhappy stay at Manchester City looks to be on the verge of ending with the England goalkeeper set to move to Burnley for £4 million.

The BBC reports that the 31-year old had a medical at Turf Moor on Friday, and once terms are agreed will join his new club in time for the start of the season.

The move has come about because Burnley have an injury crisis in the goalkeeping department, with Nick Pope set to miss a good part of the season having dislocated a shoulder playing in the Europa League against Aberdeen and Tom Heaton still making his way back to fitness after an ankle injury. The club had to get UEFA sanction to play former Manchester United keeper Anders Lindegaard in the return leg against Aberdeen, so the arrival of Hart at the club is timely.

Hart has made nearly 350 appearances for City in all competitions but has found himself out of favour since Pep Guardiola’s arrival as manager and has spent the past two seasons out on loan, first in Italy with Torino and then with West Ham.
