19-year old attacking midfielder Marcus Edwards could be the latest young English talent to move to Europe in search of regular first-team football.
Following the example of Jadon Sancho who left Manchester City last season for Borussia Dortmund and has already broken through into the first team, and the likes of his former team mate Reo Griffiths who has departed for Lyon, Edwards may be set to move abroad after Bayer Leverkusen made contact with his club Tottenham hotspur about a permanent move reports The Sun.
A regular at youth international football level for England, Edwards is highly rated by Spurs and was compared by his manager Mauricio Pochettino to Lionel Messi when he made his debut at 17 years old. However, despite that and the fact that he is under contract at White Hart Lane until 2020, Edwards is growing frustrated by his lack of first-team opportunities, so moving to German may be an attractive option.
