Watford lining up loan move for Barcelona striker

Watford are negotiating a loan move for Barcelona forward Pablo Alcácer, with a two year loan move under consideration.

That is according to Spanish media outlet Sport who claim that the deal is done bar the player himself agreeing to the move.

Alcácer, who is a product of the Valencia youth academy system, joined Barcelona in a £27 million deal two years ago, but has struggled to impose himself at the Camp Nou, having made 50 appearances for the Catalans, and scoring 15 goals, mainly from the bench.

Barcelona were hoping to sell the 24-year old, who has 13 full international caps for Spain, and recoup most of his initial transfer fee, but finding few willing suitors, are happy with the Watford loan deal instead, especially as the terms are thought to include a provision that the Hertfordshire club will be forced to buy him permanently at the end of the two years.
