Everton are said to be interested in signing Russian World Cup star Denis Cheryshev, who is currently on the books of La Liga side Villareal.
That is according to Spanish publication Marca who report that they could be willing to sell him before the transfer window opens, with Everton one of the favourites to sign him.
The 27-year old winger was a Real Madrid academy player, but only managed two first team appearances at the Bernabeu before loan deals to Sevilla and Villareal, then returning to the Yellow Submarines on a permanent deal two year ago.
Now it looks like Cheryshev, who scored four goals for the hosts as Russia reached the World Cup quarter-finals, could be set for a move to the Premier League, and a hook-up with Everton’s other new signings, wide attacker Richarlison, and full-back Lucas Digne, whose arrival on a 5-year deal from Barcelona has now been confirmed by the club.
