West Ham United have agreed a deal to sign 21-year old Portuguese footballer Xande Silva from Portuguese club Vitória de Guimarães, for a fee, which includes various add-ons that could be worth up to £3.1 million.
Silva, who is an attacking midfield player, and a Portuguese under-20 international has made 30 appearances at Vitória since breaking into the first team, scoring once. Under contract until 2021, Silva had a release clause in his current contract worth €11 million , but, according to Portuguese media outlet Record, Vitória have agreed to sell him for a lower figure in exchange for a percentage of any sell-on fee.
21-year old Silva is not judged ready for first-team football at West Ham just yet and instead will join the side’s under-23 side, where he may be united with a familiar face in the shape of Domingos Quina, who has just been in the Portugal side which won the UEFA European Under-19 Championship.
