Everton have been linked with a move for 22-year old Rennes midfielder James Léa-Siliki.
That is according to L’Équippe, who report that the player, who has been linked with a move to several clubs, including Benfica, is now on Everton’s radar after the two clubs met in a pre-season friendly in France last weekend. The match saw Everton comprehensively outplayed by their French opponents, losing 4 – 1 with Siliki a constant threat throughout, and it was he who scored the fourth goal, easily outpacing the Everton defence to slot home.
Everton’s incoming transfer business has been limited, to date, to the signing of former Watford winger Richarlison, but with the transfer deadline window due to close next week, and with pre-season results suggesting that they may struggle next season, manager Marco Silva is desperately looking for reinforcements, with the club also heavily linked with a move for Barcelona full-back Lucas Digne.
