Wolverhampton Wanderers are edging closer to a deal to sign Manchester United’s Argentine defender Marcus Rojo for £25 million, in a deal which many commentators are taking as a sign that Jose Mourinho is preparing to make room in his squad for England international Harry Maguire, with a mega bid expected for the Leicester City player.
Rojo, a £16 million acquisition from Sporting Lisbon in August 2014 has struggled to convince during his time at United, which has been plagued by a series of injuries, and now it looks like the defender, who can play at full-back and as a centre-half, is ready to make the journey south to Wolves, despite only signing a new contract at Old Trafford as recently as March, as The Daily Telegraph reports.
Manchester United have also been heavily linked with a move for Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld, but, according to Sky Sports the two clubs remain far apart in their valuation of the 29-year old.
