Manchester United are ready to make a huge bid for England star Harry Maguire, who has been one of the major stars of the World Cup for The Three Lions.
That is according to The Daily Mail, who report that United are eyeing Maguire as a replacement for either Chris Smalling or Phil Jones at the heart of their defence.
One problem the Old Trafford side face though is the size of the fee. Maguire plays for Leicester City, having joined them a year ago in a £12 million transfer from Hull, with add-ons taking the fee to £17 million. However, such was his form for The Foxes last season, plus his impressive performances in Russia, that his valuation has since sky-rocketed, and United may have to pay £50 million to secure his services.
Timing could be another issue. The Premier League transfer window closes early this year on August 9th, which is just after those players on duty with England will have returned from their holidays.
