Spurs are ready to bid £27 million for Benfica left-back Alex Grimaldo.
That is according to Portuguese publication Record which indicates that the North London side are preparing an offer for the 22-year old who has been attracting interest from all across Europe, with Borussia Dortmund also said to be monitoring developments closely.
Spaniard Grimaldo is another graduate of the Barcelona academy, who played for their B team but moved to Benfica in search of first-team football in December 2015. He has since won two Portuguese league titles and domestic cups during his spell in Lisbon, playing 63 times for the side, and scoring 3 goals in his process.
Tottenham have yet to sign any players in the summer window, and their interest in Grimaldo might be an indication that they are prepared to let Danny Rose, who is away at the World Cup in Russia with England, and who has been in dispute with the club over a new contract, leave.
