Rangers are considering a move for former Liverpool full-back Jon Flanagan, who is available on a free transfer after being allowed to leave Anfield by Jurgen Klopp.
A former team mate of Rangers manager Steven Gerrard, Flanagan made 51 appearances over an 8-year spell at the club which was punctuated by several long spells on the side lines due to injury.
Once regarded as one of the best young defenders in England, Flanagan made his debut for the international side in a friendly against Ecuador played in the USA in June 2014, and was subsequently named as a stand-by for the World Cup in Brazil in that same year.
Since that time, injuries and loss of form have seen him fall down the pecking order at Liverpool, and he spent the second half of last season on loan at Championship side Bolton Wanderers.
He has also had his fair share of off-the-field problems as well, and in January this year was sentenced to 40 hours of unpaid work and given a 12-month community order after pleading guilty to assaulting his girlfriend.
However, according to The Daily Record, Gerrard believes he can help the 25-year old get back to his best form.
