Everton linked with Mexican World Cup hero

Mexico Hirving Lozano who scored the only goal in his country’s surprise win over Germany in their opening World Cup Group game, is being linked with a move to Everton.

The winger currently plays for Dutch side PSV Eindhoven and made a telling contribution as his team lifted the Eredivisie title last season, scoring 17 goals and providing 8 assists.

Now after just a year in Holland, the 22 year old could be set for a move to the Premier League, with Everton set to be favourites to sign him because their newly appointed director of football signed Lozano from Mexican League side Pachua last July.

Certainly his national manager Juan Carlos Osorio believes he is ready to play at the next level saying “His pace and again his ability to take people on, he can play in any league and any place. I think he will be able to – and he has the tools to play – in the Premier League.”

According to talkSPORT, Arsenal and Tottenham have also expressed an interest in Lozano.

Lozano, who has 29 caps for his country, will be certain of starting for his country on Saturday when they have high hopes of beating South Korea to reach the knock-out phases of the World Cup.
