Leicester City have launched a bid for Juventus and Italy midfielder Stefano Sturaro, tabling an £11.5 million bid.
Sturaro who began his career at Genoa moved to Juventus in 2014, has played 90 times for the club in all competitions, scoring 3 goals. During his time at Juventus he was part of the squad that won four consecutive league and cup doubles, but was largely a bit-part player last seasons, starting just seven Serie A games, and now wants to move on in search of more regular football.
Football Italia reports that Leicester are favourites to sign him over a return to his former club Genoa, but there is a gap between their offer and what Juventus want for the player, which is in the region of €20 million (£17.6 million).
If Sturaro does join, he will become Leicester’s third signing of the summer – they have already completed deals for full-back Ricardo Pereira from Porto, and West Bromwich Albion captain Jonny Evans.
