Reports suggest that Croatian international Nikola Katic has passed a medical and is set to join Glasgow Rangers.
The Slaven Belupo defender has emerged as a key target for new manager Steven Gerrard as he looks to strengthen the Rangers defence ahead of the now season, and now it looks like he may be set to complete his move, after successfully passing a medical in Manchester, according to Croatian Football News.
If he joins, Katic will become Gerrard’s fourth signing of the summer following the capture of Scott Arfield from Burnley, Allen McGregor from Hull and Jamie Murphy from Brighton. In addition, winger Ovie Ejaria has agreed to a season-long loan from Liverpool.
A fee of £2 million has been quoted for the 21-year old central defender who has one full international cap for Croatia, but is not part of their squad for the World Cup this time round.
