The Daily Mail reports that manager David Wagner, and key members of his backroom staff have signed new deals to stay at Huddersfield Town.
46-year old Wagner, assistant Christoph Buhler and first team coach Andrew Hughes, have all committed their immediate futures to the Yorkshire club by signing contract extensions until 2021.
The German-American Wagner, a former protégé of Jurgen Klopp at Borussia Dortmund, joined Huddersfield in the summer of 2016 and, in his first season with the club, guided them to promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.
Starting the season as favourites to be relegated straight back down again, Wagner and his team guided Huddersfield, against the odds, to Premier League survival, with a point in their penultimate game of the season away at Chelsea guaranteeing another year of top flight football for The Terriers.
His success attracted attention across Europe take note and clubs from both the Premier League and further afield were interested in enticing Wagner away from West Yorkshire. However, news of the contract renewals will quash such rumours, much to the relief of the club’s supporters.
