According to talkSPORT Newcastle United are ready to battle Spanish clubs Real Betis and Villareal for Juventus midfielder Stefano Sturoa.
The25 year old midfielder began his career at Genoa before moving to Juventus in 2014, and has gone on to make 90 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring three goals. However, he has seen first-team opportunities scarce in the past year, and has now been told he can leave the club this summer.
Sturoa is capable of playing anywhere in midfield, but is usually deployed as a box-to-box, central or defensive midfielder in front of the backline, because of his energy and qualities as a ball winner. He was part of Antonio Conte’s Italian side for Euro 2016, making his debut against Finland in a friendly played in Verona.
Juventus are apparently ready to consider bids in the order of £9 million for the Italian, double what they paid for him four years ago.
