According to The Daily Mail Tottenham are close to agreeing a deal for Barcelona teenager Riqui Puig.
The 18 year old central midfielder has been tipped to have a bright future, having already made his debut for Barcelona’s B side, and he featured heavily in his side’s UEFA Youth League campaign, scoring three goals on the way to the final, and then providing three assists as the Catalan side went on to win the trophy, beating Chelsea 3 – 0 in the final.
However, despite being offered a new deal, Puig has refused to sign, and is reportedly keen on a move to London and a link up with Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino. Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde has told the club’s hierarchy to do whatever it takes to keep the teenager at the club, but the decision may be out of his hands if Puig is determined to make the move.
