The Daily Mail reports that Manchester United are willing to listen to offers for French striker Anthony Martial this summer – but have ruled out selling him to a Premier League rival.
The 22-year old forward has enjoyed a tough last few months at United, with his last goal coming in January. He was not included in Didier Deschamp’s French World Cup squad, and now he appears to have reached a standstill in his career at Old Trafford.
Whilst the hierarchy are willing to let him leave, they would prefer that he goes abroad, which will disappoint both Tottenham and Chelsea who have been linked with the player in the past.
Enquiries have been made with clubs in Italy, but his wages of around £65,000 will deter most in Serie A, and with a year left on his current deal, and an option of another 12 months on his contract as well, Martial is unlikely to want to take a pay cut now.
