Willian to quit Chelsea if Conte stays

The Daily Mirror reports that Chelsea midfielder Willian is ready to quit the club if Antonio Conte stays on as manager at Stamford Bridge.

The Brazilian is unhappy with not starting regularly under Conte, and was upset that he was only named as a substitute in Chelsea’s 1 – 0 FA Cup triumph over Manchester United on the weekend, only appearing for a very late cameo role. So upset was he with his manager, that he later doctored a celebratory picture on Instagram to airbrush the Italian out of it.

Willian has been linked with a move to United, with Jose Mourinho holding a long-standing interest in signing the 29-year old, but his future may hinge on what happens with Conte.

Having looked certain to quit as manager, Conte is now insisting that he wants to honour his current contract which has another year to run in West London. This may, in part, be due to the fact that two of the jobs with which he was linked, the Italy national coach and the vacancy at PSG, have now been taken by Roberto Mancini and Thomas Tuchel respectively.
