The Daily Mail reports that Sir Elton John’s son, Zachary had signed to the academy team at Watford, the club which he used to own when Graham Taylor was manager.
The seven year old, who the 71 year old singer shares with husband David Furnish, is currently playing for Watford’s academy side and is said to be thriving on the pitch, with his proud father saying “Zachary is incredibly into soccer”.
Sir Elton is honorary life president of the club which he owned for two spells between 1976 and 2002, and is renowned for being a big sports fan. Now it seems that his son has inherited his sporting genes, although his chances of making it through to the first team, as with any child of that age, are very slim.
Watford are currently owned by the Pozzo family, which also owns Italian Serie A club Udinese and previously Granada in Spain.
