The Daily Mail reports that Burnley have rewarded their Icelandic winger Johann Berg Gudmundsson for a fine season with a new three-year deal.
Gudmundsson, who has enjoyed a fine season at Turf Moor with two goals and eight assists, and has been part of the team that has helped Burnley secure European football for the first time in 51 years next season, with the club assured of finishing 7th in the Premier League table.
The 27-year old, who joined the club from Charlton in 2016, is happy with his new deal, saying “it’s something I wanted to do. I want to stay here. I feel comfortable here and my family likes it here”.
Meanwhile Burnley manager Sean Dyche has moved to reassure supporters worried that the club may be forced to sell some of their star names during the summer, telling them that Burnley are strong financially, and that there is no pressure on him to let anybody go unless some really big offers are received.
Burnley conclude their league campaign at home to Bournemouth this weekend.
