Arsenal teammates unhappy as Mesut Ozil ruled out for rest of the season

The news that Mesut Ozil is unlikely to play again for Arsenal this season has not gone down with his teammates, already unhappy with his attitude, reports The Sun.

Ozil, who missed the weekend game against Burnley, has now ruled himself out for the rest of the season with a back injury, which has angered a number of his fellow players, who are annoyed at the number of games that he has been allowed to miss this season, with an assortment of minor injuries and illnesses.

Ozil is Arsenal’s highest paid player after signing a contract extension in January worth £350,000 a week. However, he has missed the club’s last five Premier League games, and has only started 33 of the side’s 58 matches this season. Last week, Ozil attracted savage criticism from former Arsenal legend Martin Keown, who said that the German “was not fit to wear the shirt” after his performance in the Europa League semi-final against Atletico Madrid.
