Jack Wilshere’s future has taken a new twist, after Arsenal changed their mind and offered him an improved new deal to stay at the club, reports The Daily Mirror.
Wilshere, who is out of contract in the summer, has been widely expected to leave the club because the new deal on offer to him effectively represented a pay cut, with the deal heavily incentivised based on performances. He has been linked with moves to Everton, and newly promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers, as well as a clutch of Serie A clubs, but now it looks as he may choose to stay at Arsenal after all, after the club decided to compromise on their original offer.
It is understood that the 26-year old’s preference is to stay at Arsenal, and to play under whoever succeeds Arsene Wenger as manager, and The Gunners hope their improved offer will persuade him to remain with his boyhood club.
