Manchester City to sign no more than two new players in the summer

Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Manchester City will not sign more than two new players this summer, reports talkSPORT.

Speaking to reporters after his side’s latest impressive performance which saw them thrash West Ham 4 – 1 at the London Stadium on Sunday. Guardiola joked that the new Premier League champions were ready to spend £1 billion in the next window, before revealing that the club’s spending plans were less ambitious.

Commenting that all the teams will start with the same number of points next season, the Spaniard confirmed that “we need something. Maybe one. Maybe two. No more than that, for next year”.

City’s victory took their tally of goals this season past the 100 goal mark after 35 Premier League games, the fastest that milestone has been achieved in the top flight since Everton managed it in the 1931 – 1932 season.  It also moves them within reach of Chelsea’s record of 95 points in a Premier League campaign, which was achieved under Jose Mourinho more than a decade ago.
