The Daily Mail reports that Chelsea have lined-up a £35 million swoop for Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri, but that he is not prepared to join the club until he knows who will succeed Antonio Conte as manager.
Seri, who has also been tracked by a host of other Premier League clubs, including both Manchester clubs, Liverpool and Arsenal, has been identified as Chelsea’s top transfer target, but the player is unwilling to move to West London until the managerial situation at the club has been clarified.
After a disappointing League campaign and increasing friction with the Stamford Bridge board, Conte is unlikely to be at the helm at Chelsea next season, and, until the identity of his successor is known, Seri does not want to commit his future to the Blues.
A host of big names have been linked with the managerial appointment at Chelsea, including former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique, and current Juventus and Napoli managers Massimiliano Allegri and Maurizio Sarri.
