The Daily Mail reports that Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle and Everton are amongst the clubs monitoring the situation of Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand.
Irrespective of whether his club suffers relegation or not, the 28-year old is likely to leave Southampton in the summer, and as a reliable, steady performer, with strong defensive and attacking abilities, Bertrand can be expected to be in demand when he becomes available on the market.
An England international with 19 full caps to his name, Bertrand will be hopeful of being named in Gareth Southgate’s final squad for the World Cup in June.
Bertrand began his career at Chelsea, but was never able to hold down a first-team place there, and underwent a series of loan moves, to the likes of Bournemouth, Oldham Athletic, Norwich City, Reading and Aston Villa, before signing for Southampton in a permanent deal in February 2015 for an undisclosed fee.
