Arsenal fans have not had a great deal to cheer this season, but there is almost universal approval of the news that one of their most talented youngsters, Reiss Nelson, is set to commit his immediate future to the club, as reported by The Evening Standard.
The 18-year old midfielder, who made his Premier League debut at the weekend in the home victory over Southampton, was out of contract next summer, and there were fears that the club might lose him amidst reports of interest from the likes of Real Madrid and PSG.
Now, however, he looks set to stay at Arsenal and sign a contract extension, saying “It is a big achievement to sign for a club like Arsenal so I’m just delighted with the contract and hopeful that I can sign it soon£.
Nelson first came to prominence with during Arsenal’s pre-season tour of Australia and China, and has made a number of appearances for the first-team this season, primarily in the Europa League and cup competitions.
