The Daily Mail reports that Liverpool have been linked with a shock move for Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini, with reports emanating from France suggesting that a three-year deal for the Belgian international could be on offer.
The 30-year old is set to leave Old Trafford in the summer when his current contract ends, having failed to agree a new deal for red. He has been linked with a number of clubs abroad, including Besiktas, PSG and Roma, but now a surprise candidate much closer to home has emerged.
Liverpool are looking for a defensive midfielder to replace Emre Can who looks set to leave Anfield in the summer when his own current deal expires, and now may be ready to offer Fellaini the chance to continue his career in the Premier League.
Fellaini has found first-team opportunities this season with United hard to come by, and has not started since last month’s Champions League defeat to Sevilla.
