Long-time Old Trafford target Antoine Griezmann has shunned a move to Manchester United after agreeing to join Barcelona instead in an £88 million deal, reports The Daily Mail.
The French forward was reported to be one of Jose Mourinho’s top summer targets, but now it looks like the Atletico Madrid player is set to stay in La Liga and make the switch to Barcelona instead.
The 27-year old was ready to leave Atletico last summer but opted to stay out of loyalty when the club were handed a transfer ban. However, with the embargo now lifted, Griezmann looks set to leave when the transfer window opens, although rumours that a deal with Barcelona has already been agreed have been denied by both player and club.
Griezmann has scored 23 goals in 38 games for Atletico this season, and is one of the most coveted players in Europe. He has 51 international caps for France and is almost a certainty to start for his country in the World Cup this summer.
