Liverpool have been put on alert by the news that Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos can leave the club in the summer, according to The Sun.
Touted as one of the brightest prospects in Spain when he joined the Spanish giants from fellow La Liga club Real Betis last summer, Ceballos has endured a frustrating time at Madrid, playing just 212 minutes of league football so far this season. Now it looks like he could be ready to reignite his career elsewhere, with reports that Real are ready to sell the 21-year old, though it might cost another club £25 million to buy him.
Spanish outlet Marca reported in February that Ceballos had told Real president Florentino Perez that he wanted to join Liverpool, with Reds’ manager Jurgen Klopp said to be a fan of the player.
However, Liverpool are not likely to be the only contender for the signature of the Spanish under-21 star, with separate reports emerging of heavy interest from Italian club Roma.
