The Daily Mail reports that Gabriel Jesus has put discussions of a new contract with Manchester City worth £90,000 a week on hold until the summer.
City are keen to tie the Brazilian forward to a new deal and had looked to have completed the formalities before Christmas, with the 20-year old in line for a substantial pay increase over the £65,000 a week that he currently earns.
Now, however, emerges reports that he has rejected their initial offer, with his representatives believing that he deserves more than £100,000 a week. Jesus, instead, will concentrate for the time being on matters on the pitch, with the Premier League title to be wrapped-up and a Champions League Quarter-Final with Liverpool looming.
There is also the World Cup for him to consider, with Brazil now amongst the favourites, after defeating Germany by a single goal in their friendly in Berlin, with Jesus himself scoring the winner.
