Liverpool midfielder slams false rumours of a move away from the club

The Daily Mail reports that Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has hit out at false rumours of a move away from the club in the summer.

Can’s contract expires at the end of the season, and, having failed to agree to a contract extension at Anfield,  he has been widely linked with a move away from Merseyside, with Juventus heavily tipped as likely to be his next employer.

However, now the German international has decided to speak out about what he regards as false stories about his future, commenting on his Instagram account “Interesting stories about me in the press! I’m no longer going to comment on any false stories or rumours”

Can was commenting after being released early from international duty for rehabilitation on a back injury. The 25 year-old was part of the Germany squad that met Spain in an international friendly on Friday, but did not get onto the pitch in the end.
