The Daily Mail reports that Paris Saint-Germain are prepared to offer Chelsea manager Antonio Conte a salary of £10 million a year if he agrees to take over at the French club in the summer, and that discussions have already been held with representatives of the Italian to replace current incumbent Unai Emery.
Emery, who was appointed in 2016, is almost certain to leave PSG in the summer, after the club failed to manage a serious challenge in the Champions League, going out at in the round of 16 to Real Madrid, despite spending nearly £400 million on the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe to try to ensure success in the tournament.
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has made Conte his number one target and is preparing a bumper deal to lure him away from Stamford Bridge.
Conte has endured a difficult second season in West London, and with the club out of the Champions League and facing a tough fight to make the top four, the FA Cup is their main chance of a trophy this campaign. The 48-year old has clashed frequently with the Chelsea board over the club’s transfer policy, so may be ready to move away if given the chance in the close season.
