Liverpool ready to offer Mo Salah a bumper new contract

According to The Daily Mail, Liverpool are ready to offer Mo Salah a new contract worth £200,000 a week to reward him for his contribution on the pitch, and to fend off interest from other clubs.

Salah has had a stunning first season at Anfield since joining from Roma in June last year, scoring 36 goals so far in all competitions. He is leading the Premier League goalscoring list with 28 strikes to his name, four more than Harry Kane, and with the Tottenham striker out injured currently, is odds-on favourite to win this year’s Golden Boot.

His form has not gone unnoticed further afield, amidst rumours that Real Madrid were ready to mount a mega-bid for the player once the transfer window opens again.

Now Liverpool are trying to forestall any bids for the Egyptian forward by offering him a contract that would make him one of the Premier League’s top earners, level with the likes of Eden Hazard and David de Gea.
