According to The Sun, Tottenham are ready to bid for Swansea City defender Alfie Mawson in the summer.
The Hillingdon-born player began his career at Brentford, and after loan spells at Luton, Welling and Wycombe Wanderers, moved to Barnsley in June 2015. However, his spell in South Yorkshire only lasted a year before Swansea bought the centre back in a £5 million deal in August 2016.
Since then, he has impressed in a struggling side, and earned his first call-up to the full England squad this week, having won 6 caps at under-21 level.
Now it looks like he might be on the move again, with his displays for the Welsh side attracting attention from several Premier League clubs, with Spurs said to be in pole position to sign him.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino had the chance to scout Mawson close-up on Saturday when Spurs travelled to Swansea in the FA Cup Quarter-Final. However, the defender could do nothing to stop Tottenham cruising to an easy victory with two goals from Christian Eriksen, and another from Erik Lamela.
