Former Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina is to undergo a medical at AC Milan, with the 35-year old set to move to the San Siro in the summer, reports The Daily Mail.
Reina currently with fellow Serie A club Napoli, will move to Milan when his current contract expires at the end of the season.
The news has increased speculation around the future of Milan’s current goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who last month topped a poll as the most promising teenager in Europe. Now it looks like the 19-year old may be ready to move in the summer, with Chelsea, Manchester United, PSG and Real Madrid all thought to be in the queue to sign him.
Donnarumma has enjoyed a strained relationship with the AC Milan fans, particularly at the start of the season when he initially refused to sign a new deal with the club. That led to them throwing fake money at him during a U-21 European Championship match, and although the mood in Milan has improved under manager Gennaro Gattuso, Donnarumma’s agent, Mino Raiola, continues to agitate for a move for his client.
