According to The Daily Mail, Manchester United are ready to reopen contract talks with Antony Martial.
The club had initial discussions with the player and his representatives in December, and although no terms were agreed them, United are ready to resume negotiations, and are confident of reaching an agreement with him.
Martial has 15 months remaining on his current deal at Old Trafford, which he signed when moving to Manchester in £36 million move from Monaco in September 2015.
United are keen to tie the 22-year old to a new long-term deal, although they are also considering the option of extending his current contract by another year.
The Frenchman struggled during Jose Mourinho’s first season as United boss, but has played a more prominent role this season, scoring 11 times in his 38 games in all seasons. However, despite being settled in Manchester, Martial is expected to seek assurances about his future playing time, as the arrival of Alexis Sanchez at the club has created more congestion in the forward line, with Marcus Rashford amongst those now losing out.
