Serie A club Lazio have made Spurs defender Jan Vertonghen one of their top summer transfer targets according to talkSPORT.
The Italian side are set to lose central defender, Stefan de Vrij, who has been linked with Liverpool, Manchester United and Inter Milan, for free in June, when his current contract expires, and they are in the market for a replacement. They have drawn up a lengthy shortlist, and Vertonghen is one of the players they are considering.
The 30-year old Vertonghen has less than 18 months left on his current contract with Tottenham, but with the future of Toby Alderweireld also in some doubt, it is unlikely that the North London club will be interested in any bids for a player who has made 240 appearances for them since arriving from Ajax in the summer of 2012.
Vertonghen has 98 caps for Belgium and is virtually certain to be part of their World Cup squad later this year.
